Event tips

Event marketing allows for customers to customers to create authentic connections with products and this method of marketing is bound to bring priceless returns.

Ticketpass shows you four tips on how to host the most memorable marketing event. Steps that have been formulated and have been seen to work courtesy of Rand; an event marketing expert:

  • Event Marketing as A Relationship Building Tool

Jeana Anderson Cohen stated: “It’s about forming a deeper connection with between your message and your consumer.”

The basis should not be on sales, but on forming relationships with customers. Event marketing is the best medium to achieve this.

  • Collaboration Leads to Profits

For those events that do not aim to make money, the best way to cut down on expenses is to obtain corporate sponsorships; where local partners cater for services in their field. For example if you require music at your event, partner with an entertainment company to cater for the sound, stage and lighting expense. The purpose of this is to control the bottom-line while enabling to build Business to Business networks.

  • Spend and Invite Strategically

You want to do it right the first time and leave an impact or an impression. So don’t be stingy with your money. Spend but spend wisely. As they say “an opening is one of the rare opportunities to attract a crowd”. Be creative and be unique. Additionally, invite the right people. The people who can create buzz about your event or who you can impress by your event, maybe because of power or influence.

  • Rookie Mistakes to Avoid

Take time to systemically plan for the event. Start of the overall event idea, then move on to the date. Don’t forget to do your research to determine if there are competing events on the same day or close to your date. From there, determine all the other event logistics including finalizing on the location. Once all this is determined, create a timeline and work backwards from the set date on the tasks and activities that need to be done.

The main thing to avoid doing is not delivering what you have promised. This is one big mistake that event managers do. This is what can make or break your event so make sure you do everything right and give the audience what they expect.
